Jo was a registered nurse for 24 years before immigrating to the USA from the UK – she’s now lived in Houston for over 20 years!
Jo currently shares her home with Penny and Fudge Chocolate Labradors, Benjamin the rabbit and PidgeWidge the Galah Cockatoo! They keep her busy when not caring for clients. ​​​​​​

Jo also keeps honeybees and is an active member of the Houston Beekeepers Society.
Jo is certified as a Dog Walker, and certified Pet Sitter from the IAP Career College. She is a member of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters.
Jo holds a Pet First Aider Certificate and is CPR trained.​​​​​​


Angela Ortiz
I've been working with Tail Trails TX for approximately 2 years now, and at a Pet Hotel for over 3 years. I have a deep passion for animals, and love pet sitting and walking dogs, as well as walking my own dog! Whilst working I continue in my education in Doctor of Medicine (DVM) schooling.

I have been petsitting for many years and loved all of the animals that I cared for. Pet sitting and dog walking has always been part of my life since a young girl, and being able to be a part of Tail Trails has turned my passion I not a career path!

Michael Child
Michael is a dedicated father of four and proud grandfather of eight, all from the beautiful state of Utah. His lifelong passion for dogs has defined his career. While successfully running a general construction business, he made a significant impact in the dog training industry, which he established in Utah in 2010.


Michael specializes in transforming aggressive dogs, effectively reshaping their behavior so they can become loving companions for families and small children. He has also excelled in working with rescue dogs, training them and ensuring they find loving forever homes.
His expertise extends beyond aggressive dogs; he has successfully trained puppies and hunting bird dogs and is well-versed in handling nearly all breeds. In 2021, Michael relocated to Texas, where he is fully committed to dog training as his primary vocation. He enjoys collaborating with the Tail Trails TX team and brings extensive knowledge of dog breeds to the table.
Currently, Michael shares his life with his wife, Penny, with whom he has celebrated 37 years of marriage, alongside their wonderful dogs: Pippa, a Catahoula Leopard Dog, and Cammo, a Springer Spaniel.and Cammo, a Springer Spaniel.
